Frequently asked
What's the difference between free zone and mainland?
Mainland UAE entities can trade anywhere in the UAE but typically require a local sponsor for certain activities. Free zone companies (like IFZA) are 100% foreign-owned, exempt from corporate tax on qualifying income, but historically restricted to operating within their free zone or internationally. The new UAE corporate tax regime has eased some of this — talk to us about your activity.
Will I get a UAE residence visa?
IFZA licenses include a visa quota — typically 1 to 6 visas depending on the package. Our Starter plan includes 1 visa allocation; the Pro plan includes investor visa processing + Emirates ID. You'll need to enter the UAE for biometrics and medical tests once the visa is issued.
Is there really 0% corporate tax?
Qualifying free zone income (income from activities listed in the relevant free zone regulations, and from outside the UAE) attracts 0% corporate tax. Non-qualifying activities are taxed at 9% (federal corporate tax). The exact treatment depends on your activity — we'll guide you during application.
Can I choose any business activity?
IFZA allows up to 3 related business activities under one license. We help you pick the right activity codes during the questionnaire. Some regulated activities (financial services, healthcare) require additional approvals.
Do I need physical office space?
IFZA offers flexi-desk solutions — a registered desk address that satisfies the legal requirement without a full office. Our Starter plan includes flexi-desk for 1 year.
How long does IFZA setup take?
Trade license issuance: 5–7 business days from complete documentation. Visa processing: an additional 2–3 weeks including biometrics and Emirates ID. Bank account opening: 2–4 weeks post-license.
Can I open a UAE bank account?
Yes. We work with multiple UAE banks including ADCB, Emirates NBD, and Mashreq. Approval depends on the business activity and shareholder profile. Our Pro plan includes bank account opening assistance.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes — full refund any time before we submit your filing to the government registry. Government fees become non-refundable once paid out on your behalf. See our refund policy for the full details.
How is my data protected?
All KYC documents are encrypted at rest in Vercel Blob with private access tokens. Payments go directly through Stripe or Razorpay — we never see or store full card details. The platform runs on Vercel with TLS 1.2+ enforced end-to-end.
What happens after I pay?
We start preparing your filing within 1 business day. You'll see live status in your dashboard, plus email updates at submission, registry approval, and certificate issuance. A real specialist reviews every application before submission.
